The selection of a provider of outsourced internal audit or regulatory compliance services is a very significant decision. In the current environment not only does the provider have to have knowledgeable and experienced staff, but it also needs to be responsive to changes in the industry and regulatory environment and most importantly, responsive to general needs that arise throughout the year.
In December 1999, I set out to develop our internal services practice with a mission to serve a growing client base in the same manner that I had served the “clients” of operational areas while employed as an audit professional in the private sector. To ensure independence, but be viewed as an extension of the Management team, to be available for advice and counsel even without an office down the hall, and to provide value added audits intended to help address risks and build efficiencies, not to find issues, for the sake of finding them was the basis for my business model. Most importantly, I set out to build long standing relationships built on trust and confidence.
While our practice has grown to be one of the largest in our market and we have evolved from me, a desk, and a dream to a team of over thirty experienced professionals, the pillars of my philosophy have not changed. To be successful in our business, we have to help ensure our clients are successful in addressing risks, in ensuring operations that are compliant with regulations, and in demonstrating to regulators a sound audit process. Most importantly, we need to ensure that we are there for our clients with support that goes well beyond the specific audits that are engaged for. Our mission to add value and to ensure that the services that we provide are second to none is at the forefront of all that we do and this mission is carried by all the members of my team. It’s a mission that has served us well and served our clients well.
Client relationships are the lifeblood to our existence.
